I'm A Gonna Sing !

I woke up this morning at 6 am!!
Wide awake!
I'm never wide awake at 6 am.

I am NOT a morning person!
In my humble opinion, mornings should
NOT begin before 10 am!

More amazing though, I awoke with a song.
Over and over the words were playing in my mind.
I could not get rid of them.

I grabbed my laptop and found the song
What a surprise!!

The song in my playlist was NOT just the song running around in my head,
it was, instead, included in a medley along with three (3) other songs.
A couple of them were 'new songs' to me.
Upbeat
Uplifting

It's fitting since this year I'm looking for the 'new song' - the joys, blessings, the good
that comes my way EVERY day.

The fun and good each day that I had not been looking for,
but had been there all along.
If only I'd been paying attention.

Today, however,  it was literally a new song.
Well . . . . two new songs, as a matter of fact.
Delightful and touching songs

I wish I could figure out how to insert the medley into this post.
But alas - I haven't been able to figure it out

This is what I learned from the new songs.

When there is nothing else that I can do,
I CAN still sing.
Just throw my head back and sing.

Why?  Because I've tasted of freedom.
The shackles of fear will hold me no more.
Regardless of the circumstances or the day.

Just like the robins this month that sang anyway;
even when the ground was completely covered with snow.

I'm a gonna sing!!!
From a laughing heart.
Even through the darkest night.

And you or NOTHING can stop me!

Because TODAY, God gave me a new song!
A sense of peace.
A sense of freedom.
A gift.

Below are some of the words to the four (4) songs.
It's nothing like hearing it, but maybe you can imagine.

This Is the Time I Must Sing
Words & music by William J. and Gloria Gaither
Arranged by Camp Kirkland

I have tasted of freedom, I can go where He’s leading
For shackles can hold me no more;
I have learned of life’s essence, for I stand in His presence,
And sing with my heart: “He is Lord.”

There are days filled with sorrow and plans for tomorrow,
But this is the time I must sing.
And I know there’s a reason why in His own season
God gives me a song I can sing.

Keep silent ye mountains, ye fields and ye fountains,
For this is the time I must sing.
It’s the time to sing praises to the Rock of the Ages,
For this is the time I must sing.

Keep silent ye mountains, ye fields and ye fountains,
For this is the time I must sing.
It’s the time to sing praises to the Rock of the Ages,
For this is the time I must sing.

I'm Gonna Sing
I'm gonna sing just as long as it takes for a song
To make a sad, heavy spirits free
I'm gonna keep making music that carries the secret
That Jesus is liberty
I'm gonna turn off the sounds that would drag people down
To the pit of despondency
With the sweet happy tune
He is coming soon
For His children like you and me

It's a song that'll carry a message along
Through the darkest of foggy nights
And a tune is the rope
That can throw a man hope
When he's going down for the third time
It's a sweet melody that can cut your heart free
From the chains of a past defeat
You can suddenly see through the sweet harmony
A path for your wond'ring (wandering) feet
And, With the sweet happy tune
He is coming soon
For His children like you and me

Hope
The hope that is within us erupting from the sand
Is clear and pure refreshment
In dry and barren land
No scorching circumstances can stop that eager flow
Of hope that springs eternal
There’s joy that floods my soul
Oh Jesus, blessed Jesus, my wellspring in the sand
Oh Jesus, blessed Jesus my strong and saving hand
Oh Jesus, blessed Jesus my anchor tether roll.
The voice that stills all rages, by shouting whispering hope
The voice that stills all rages, by shouting whispering hope

Then He said,  Sing!

Then He said Sing, from a laughing  heart
Just Sing when the night is darkest
Sing that your joy explode  and let music fill the air
You can sing when there is nothing else to do
Sing when something deep inside of you
Tells you the life is still a wonder,
Just throw back your head and sing
